Happy Wednesday!
We first read Lost and Found Cat, a true story about a cat who got separated from its owners when they fled from Iraq to Greece to Norway. We have been talking a lot about refugees and their hardships, as well as people working together.
After PE, the kids worked on their personal Coat of Arms some more. Two are finished now; the rest need to be finished by Friday. If not done, they will be sent home. Presentations start Monday.
During math we redid the one minute timed addition facts, then marked / reviewed the perimeter worksheet from last week. We are looking for ways to make ten / finding friendly numbers when adding.
Next we played the memory game as a way of matching Greek & Latin roots to their meanings. Each child has a set of the game with them to play at home. Tomorrow's quiz is on unit 2: spelling, definitions, using in sentences.
This afternoon was music with Mr. Redding and Library with Mrs. Tomm. We learned how to make new folders, where to save work, and to use various tools on a Word document.
A new set of Scholastic book orders went home today. They will be due next Friday.
Grade Four students took home a notice the other day about MDI (Middle Years Development Instrument). This is a valuable survey out of UBC that looks at the needs of young students. If, however, you do not want your child to participate, just sign and return the form.
Enjoy your fall evening!
