Happy Wednesday, everyone. Here's a summary of our very busy day:

We started our morning watching two short basketball videos and reviewing the skills / strategies they suggested before heading to PE to practice our skills.
The first video focused on five things:  [Ask your child if they can expand on these.]
-look for the windows
-use your eyes
-lead your man
-quick decisions
-know your target (team mate's abilities)

The second video was "Why your shot is broke" , or something along those lines.
-look at the target to give your brain time to calculate the distance, height, etc.
-head position (look through your eyebrows)
-body space (keep body a suitable distance from your body to maximize power)

When asked, the kids seemed to enjoy the videos and said that they were helpful.

We returned to class for a quick math subtraction drill, graphed the results, then the grade fours went with Mr. Pfeiffer for FSAs.  The rest of us got organized and ready to take notes tomorrow about place value and value.
Instead of continuing with math, we did Agendas and worked on our art cards and finished outstanding assignments (I hope that both will be outstanding:) ).

This afternoon, the kids played recorders with Mr. Redding (my prep time) and then we went to Library with Mrs. Tomm.  In Library, we did an extension of yesterday's article about the conservationist John Muir.  Students looked up people on Canadian money. Then, working in pairs, created information webs using the program Inspiration.  We will continue this tomorrow.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, was our day.
