Tuesday, November 14, 2017

It's been a few days since students were in session, with Friday being a Curriculum Implementation Day and Monday being a Stat. Holiday for Remembrance Day.  There was a great turnout at the cenotaph Saturday... always nice to see.

First thing this morning we printed off mini flags of our ancestor's homeland. We will be putting these around the world map on our hallway bulletin board.

Next, we reviewed the U3 Greek and Latin Roots package, then generated a spelling list for Friday.
Mr. Redding took the kids to PE before recess.

After recess, students wrote the Numeracy Quiz, part of which they practiced with their parents during the student-led conferences.  Agendas and silent reading took us to lunch time.

After lunch we prepared our Rock Candy 'experiment', had a surprise fire drill, and had two more Immigration Project presentations.  Somewhere in there students wrote a 'pre-quiz' to help them study their Halloween vocabulary.  The matching quiz will be Thursday.

SCHOLASTIC "SADDLE UP & READ BOOK FAIR" is Thursday and Friday of this week!  Classes are visiting the library on Thursday; you may send money then or come out to check out the selection yourselves.
