Our day was very chatty but we did get some things accomplished:)
We started our morning with a school Assembly; Ella was recognized for her creativity, effort, and project completion. Two recent projects, actually, her cardinal art card and her Grinch.
After Assembly I checked their homework and we reviewed the French numbers package. We did not get to the Noël vocabulary unfortunately.
After recess, students did a 2-minute drill, then we marked / reviewed the multiplication package from yesterday. Students are drawing arrays and writing both multiplication and division statements (inverse operations) for each array. An active learner will also develop his/her multiplication and division facts during this process.
Together as a class we reviewed the Kim Sutton number line, identifying prime and composite numbers. Then we determined the factor pairs for specific numbers (12 and 13) and drew arrays to demonstrate these statements. Two numbers were assigned for homework: 16 and 50.
We had a quick game of Everybody's It in PE, then back for lunch and cleaning out desks for Monday's switch. Somewhere in there we cleaned out 'no longer needed' papers from our Working Binders.
This afternoon was Exploration Friday, the final session of the first set of classes. The second set will start in the new year.
I have included some photos of the creations from my sessions.
