After Brain Dance to wake up all planes of our brain, we started with an activity for Main Idea Monday. We will be doing this series of activities every week, at stations once we have them set up.
Next, the class did a reading assessment about chimpanzees. We will finish this tomorrow.
During math, we played two rounds of "I have..." with money (coins), then did a partner problem-solving activity (also to do with money), and finally an individual reflection. The latter will be an area of focus for all of us, as self-reflection and metacognition (thinking about one's learning) is becoming increasingly important.
After lunch, the Intermediate students had an assembly with Mme. Tedesco while the teachers met to discuss and set literacy and numeracy goals.
After that, we had a little time to glue some new Energy charts into their Science Notebook after marking "Types of Energy". The kids worked hard to get this done, but we will finish it tomorrow.
