Hello, everyone!  Here's a snapshot of our busy day:

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Photo Day tomorrow!

While the grade four students wrote their FSA (Foundational Skills Assessment) for Reading this morning, the grade three students went to P.E. with Mr. Cadegan.  They also had P.E. right after that with the rest of the class, as they finished their assessment!

After recess, we matched up 'cause and effect' scenarios, then wrote two of their own to put into their notebook.

In math, we practiced adding and subtracting using IN OUR Charts.  Some of these were especially challenging!  I have assigned the front and back of the first page to be done for tomorrow.

In science, we continued our focus on Energy with 'Electricity Around the World', identifying renewable and non-renewable natural resources.  This is part of the BC Hydro Power Smart lessons made available to us in preparation for the quiz Thursday!!  Did I mention that we got 14/14 on Quiz One?

We also continued to add things to the Science Notebook.  The kids really enjoyed the iphone activity we started at the end (see above).  Ask them about it.

I didn't leave much time for book exchange, but students can always do this in the next couple of days.

Below is a copy of the notice I sent home today with your child - please read it!

Dear Parents / Guardians,
Thank you for signing up for parent-teacher interviews this week; I look forward to meeting with you.  I am attaching a questionnaire about your child, which I am asking you to fill out before coming to our meeting.  This will allow us to have a more focused discussion.  Just bring the completed sheet with you when we meet.
Secondly, we are in need of a parent helper for our trip to Mount Cartier Court this Friday, October 11th and next Friday 18th.  We will walk there, as per usual, but will not be gardening.  We will instead be interacting with the elders.  If you are able to help either Friday, please let me know.
Many thanks, in advance, for both requests .
