Hello, folks!  I was away last week so nothing was posted.  But here's our day today:

The kids filled me in as to what activities they did and liked; the Teacher on Call was great and made things fun.

The students continued writing their letters to the Campbell River class we have been paired with.  Some students started typing their letters today. 

After recess, we started to read iF.... , a book about looking at and considering large numbers and long periods of time. 

We also talked about "Palindromes" because yesterday's date was one: 02-02-2020 (same forward and backward). The last date to be a palindrome was 11-11-1111!  And the next will be 12-02-2021, just next year.

They new some others as well (see photo).

                                                                                In the afternoon, after "Plangendas" and silent    reading, we did some art.  Students chose an image of an animal in the biome that they are studying.
After it was printed out, they traced over the outline with a thick Sharpie, then onto a plain piece of paper.  We will work on some Zentangle designs in the coming days.

That was our exciting day.

Grade 3's go skiing tomorrow, so dress warmly and bring a good lunch.
